Director of Kids Ministries
Lisa is passionate about sharing God’s love and grace with children and families, and she feels called to help every child know they are loved by God and to experience how amazing a relationship with Jesus can be. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (International Business, Spanish), and also earned her Child Development Associate degree while teaching preschool.

Lisa began training and volunteering in children’s ministries when her kids were little, and began serving as a Children’s Director in 2002 before coming to Good News. “My kids were my first children’s ministry, and I am so blessed to serve my family as well as our incredible kids and families here at Good News and in our community and beyond! God’s love knows no bounds–everything we do in our ministries is to help kids and families connect with our awesome God and with each other.”
Director of Worship Arts
Originally from Dallas, Austin started leading worship at the church his family attended, starting at age 14. Since then, he has been hooked on worship and the amazing things that God produces in people and their communities. Austin also attended the University of Texas for an undergrad in Communications and had the opportunity to help lead worship with multiple churches in the Austin area.
Whether in a band, in a duet, or on his own, his first two years of college was guiding communities in worship 4 nights a week. Eventually, Austin was completely burned out and had almost failed out of college due to stress. Despite that, he took a summer working in youth ministry and rediscovered his love for God and music, and it led Austin to refocus his efforts on whatever specific place God called him towards.
Austin was called towards leading worship for 3 years at St. Luke UMC just outside of downtown Austin, where he learned a ton about what it meant for music and ministry to be integrated fully into a community and a context. In the middle of that, God called him to pursue full-time music
Director of Student Ministries
Josh Tidmore has been living in Leander since he was 11 years old. He is married to Gabriela “Tomi” and their children are Kayden, Ella, and CharliRae. Since 2011, Josh has been a youth volunteer, a Youth Spiritual Formation Leader, and a Primary Worship Leader for Rockbridge Church (Lighthouse Student Ministry). Due to his credentials and his dedication to youth ministries, Good News UMC added Josh to their team as the Director of Youth Ministries.
In 2011, Josh felt a call to youth ministry when he volunteered on a youth mission trip. What he witnessed on that trip amazed him! “Being able to encourage that transformation, witness that transformation, and then empower the youth to go out and be the light in the lives of others after they were transformed by God, is beyond a privilege. It’s downright awesome! Because seeing them being transformed changed my life!” He realized that the youth have the power to change the trajectory of somebody’s whole existence (children, youth & adults) through authentic repentance and living for God in all areas of their life. “…it forever changed me, my direction, and my heart and my purpose! So why am I passionate about youth ministry? They have the ability to change the world!”
